Mass Flow Meter

Mass Flow Meter

Mass flow meters are essential devices used to accurately measure the mass flow rate of fluids in a pipe, unlike volumetric flow meters which measure volume per unit time. Mass flow measurement plays a crucial role in recipe formulations, material balance determinations, billing, and custody transfer operations in various industries. Given the significance of these measurements in processing plants, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of mass flow detection is paramount.

Mass Flow Meter
Features

1. High-level accuracy and precision in measuring mass flow rate of fluids.2. Versatile, measuring a wide range of fluids from liquids to gases.3. Highly responsive, providing real-time data for immediate monitoring and control.4. Low pressure drop minimizes impact on flow system and reduces energy consumption.5. Some equipped with advanced technologies like digital interfaces and self-diagnostic capabilities.6. Essential tool for optimizing processes and ensuring product quality.

Specification

1. Measurement range: Defines minimum and maximum flow rates for accurate measurement.2. Accuracy: Indicates alignment of readings with actual flow rates3. Repeatability: Ensures consistent results when measuring same flow conditions.4. Response time: Essential for real-time monitoring and control of flow process.5. Other factors: Pressure and temperature ratings, material compatibility, communication interfaces, and power requirements.

Types

Mass flow meters are used to measure mass flowrate in gases and liquids. Coriolis mass flow meters detect the angular momentum in a flowing stream, relating to the mass flow rate. Thermal mass flow meters measure mass flowrate by introducing heat into the stream or maintaining a probe at a constant temperature. Both types use temperature sensors and electric heaters.
